On August 15-17, 2017, the MIMAROPA community enjoyed a science-filled week at the 2017 Changing Lives Through Science, a regional S&T week celebration brought by DOST-MIMAROPA at Virginia Centurione Bracelli School in Odiongan, Romblon. The goal of the event was to promote awareness and appreciation for the role of science and technology in improving lives and communities across the nation, most especially in the countryside. We put on an exceptional celebration with over 10,000 attendees from all over MIMAROPA. The event was, once again, a resounding success, and we hope that all that participated enjoyed it as much as we did.

Anchored on the theme “Science for the People”, this year’s Changing Lives through Science highlighted various DOST programs and services and showcased technological products as well as research outputs of our very own scientists, researchers, inventors, and students, among others, to give the audience an understanding on the immense part that science, technology, and innovation plays in our daily lives and of its contribution to the competitiveness and economic growth of both local and national economy.
